Do you love the dog park but hate trying to get into it?

 I remember the early years of the dog parks, BC, before the catch. As I approached the entry gate the song, “who let the dogs out?” playing loudly in my head. (Stress set to music) Every time a new dog approached to enter all the owners had to rush over to the gate and grab their dogs to prevent the inevitable escape.  Well frent no more, dog park designs have been improved to include a catch at the entrance and here is the secret to the dog park catch! And stress free entry (I need a new soundtrack ; )

 It’s a beautiful day at the dog park. The sun is not too warm and the dogs are playing and sniffing. There’s clumps of people chatting and that one person suddenly averts their eyes from their dog. That of course draws your attention to their dog who is pooping. Are they really going to say that they didn’t see it and that’s why they didn’t pick it up? What should you do?

 

I’ve never seen a dog so clumsy. 

My Labrador, Dave, would always injure himself. At the park, when he would be playing he would literally run into trees. I was always asking myself, “Is this wound or behavior worthy of a trip to the Veterinarian?” Thankfully, we got through the wonder years (I wonder if I have to go to the Vet) and though the first two years were rocky, Dave lived to be 12 years old, happy and healthy.
